ORLANDO, Fla. - The Sunshine State Conference recognized Embry-Riddle's Stella Roane and Marcos da Silva as its Defensive Players of the Week on Tuesday for their performances during the week of Sept. 7-13. The honor is the second of Roane's career and the first for da Silva, with both Eagles earning their first weekly awards of the 2026 season.

Women's Soccer

Roane did not concede a goal this past week as the senior kept a pair of shutouts on the road against Florida Southern and Eckerd. The native of Broomfield, Colorado, made nine total saves between the two games including a season-high six saves on Saturday on the road at Eckerd to begin conference play. Roane's six saves against Eckerd are tied for the third-most by an SSC goalkeeper this season and she is now second in the SSC in goals allowed per game (0.57).

On Wednesday evening, Roane and ERAU became the first team to keep a clean sheet against Florida Southern with the goalie making three saves in that game.

Men's Soccer

Marcos da Silva led the Eagles' to a perfect week with a pair of 2-1 wins against No. 1 Rollins and Eckerd. da Silva's best performance of the week came on Wednesday evening when ERAU pulled off an upset on the road of top-ranked Rollins with the Brazilian goalkeeper making a career-high eight saves. The eight saves are the second-most saves an SSC goalkeeper has made in a game this season.

The senior followed that performance up with a pair of saves at home in the SSC opener against Eckerd. The win over Eckerd improved the men's soccer record to 4-0-1, their best start to a season since 2006.
