WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- The No. 1 ranked NCCAA Palm Beach Atlantic University volleyball team improved to 28-2 with a 30-23, 30-18, 30-17 victory against Embry-Riddle University Friday evening.
A strong Palm Beach serve and efficient attack?proved to be the critical difference in the match.? After taking the first game, the Sailfish rode the serve of Whitney Warren serving 10 straight points?and Andrianna Chinchilla five consecutive?serves to build a 24-10 advantage in the second.? PBAU recorded 12 service aces in the match with five from Chinchilla and four from Warren.
The final game saw the Sailfish record their best hitting percentage of the night with 18 kills and just four errors in 37 attacks for a .378 percentage.? PBAU finished with a match hitting percentage of .321 to just .059 for the Eagles (3-26).
Meghan Cok recorded a match-high 13 kills to lead the way for Palm Beach, while Noela Tola?recorded nine kills to lead the Eagles and Sue Delahanty added seven for ERU.
The Eagles return to action on Saturday at Northwood?beginning at?noon.???
