AT A GLANCE
The Embry-Riddle Eagles wrap up their 2012-13 regular season slate with a road trip to Lake Wales, Fla. to take on the Warner Royals. The Eagles downed the Royals by seven a month ago in Daytona Beach and will look to make it a season sweep with a victory on Wednesday. The Eagles will be playing for national rankings while the Royals be be hoping to capture the sixth-seed in The Sun Conference Tournament.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR
The Eagles have struggled in one area all season long: turnovers. When ERAU can keep the turnover number low and hold opponents to 40 percent or less from the floor the ultimate stat, the W/L, will be in the Eagles' favor.

In the teams' first meeting, the Eagles held Warner to just 36 percent from the floor and 27 percent from three, but a big run in the closing minutes of the second half brought the Royals all the way back to within four points after Embry-Riddle led by as many as 19 in the second half. Halstead Chiverton led all scoreres with 24 points while Jason Powell paced the home team with 19 markers.

SCOUTING WARNER
The Royals began the season ranked No. 10 in the NAIA Coaches' Preseason Top 25 Poll, but when games began the Royals struggled, beginning 0-5 in league play. Warner averages 77.4 points per game while holding opponents to 67.5 points each contest. Mark St. Fort leads the Royals with 15.2 ppg and 8.6 rpg, but in the first meeting of the season with the Eagles, St. Fort was held to eight points and five boards.

The Royals have made the second-most three-pointers of any conference team at 242 and average 35 percent from downtown. Chiverton and Bryce Kachinski have each made 57 treys, while Ian Wilhelm is third on the team with 44 from long range.

LAST GAME: No. 16 Eagles Close Out Regular Season Home Stand with 71-58 Win Over No. 14 Gyrenes
DAYTONA BEACH – The 16th-ranked Embry-Riddle men's basketball team celebrated senior night with a 71-58 win over 14th-ranked Ave Maria in Sun Conference action, Saturday at Embry-Riddle's ICI Center. The Eagles improved their overall record to 22-7 with the win and are now tied for third in the league standings at 9-6.

Seniors Jeremiah Applin and Sam Ford started off the scoring for the Eagles with back-to-back threes, but five minutes into the contest, it was Ave Maria who held a 10-7 lead. After forcing an AMU turnover, Cesar Pastrana put back a Jason Powell miss and that basket keyed a 12-2 run that gave ERAU a 19-12 lead with 12:02 left in the first half.

The Gyrenes managed to put together a run of their own and reclaimed the lead (22-21) with 7:44 left in the frame, but treys by Powell and Billy Serle helped the Eagles go back on top by seven (30-23). The last five minutes of the first half featured five turnovers and only two made field goals. Both baskets were scored by the Eagles and helped them swell their lead to 36-25 at the break.

The first six minutes of the second frame saw ERAU outscore the visitors 10-6 to build the cushion to 17 points (48-31). Although the Eagles were not as productive in their long range shooting in the second half, connecting on just three three-pointers compared to six in the first stanza, they shot 45.2 percent (14-31) from the field, which helped put the game out of reach as they led by 20 (69-49) with 1:55 left to play.

A pair of three-pointers by Jonathan Pohlgeers and Jelani Bonner with under a minute to play helped the Gyrenes close the gap, but it was too little too late as AMU dropped its third straight game to move to 21-7 overall and 8-7 in conference play.

The Eagles' offense was powered by Pastrana and Powell who recorded 14 points apiece. Pastrana pulled down 12 rebounds to record his seventh double-double of the year, while Daniel Mondragon and DeForest Carter dished out five and seven assists, respectively. Four of the five seniors to see action in Saturday's contest got their names into the scoring column. The only senior to not score was Ben Redfield, who passed up a chance at a layup to give Ford the opportunity to add to his tally, showcasing the unselfish play which has characterized his four seasons with the Eagles.

THE SUN CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT SCENARIOS
Embry-Riddle will wait to see the outcome of Wednesday's game between St. Thomas and Ave Maria to see if the Eagles are the No. 3 or No. 4 seed for the conference tournament. Either way, the Blue and Gold will play at home on Saturday against either Ave Maria, Warner or Southeastern. If the Bobcats beat the Gyrenes on Wednesday, the Eagles become the No. 4 seed and will host Ave Maria in the quarterfinals of the tournament. If the Gyrenes knock off the Bobcats on Wednesday, the Eagles will be the No. 3 seed and will play host to either Warner or Southeastern, depending on how the rest of the games shake out.

CARTER'S RECORD CHASE
Sophomore DeForest Carter is putting forth one of the most rounded statistical seasons in Embry-Riddle history. Carter leads the team with 13.6 points per game, 7.1 assists per game, 2.6 steals per game and 1.4 blocks per game. He ranks second with 5.7 rebounds per contest.
