THE OPENING TIP
• Embry-Riddle and Berea will be playing for just the second time. ERAU Head Coach Steve Ridder graduated from Berea in 1981 and spent eight seasons there as an assistant coach.
• DeForest Carter moved past Ryan Rothrock on the all-time scoring list last weekend, now standing at 1,388 career points, 16th all-time.
• Cesar Pastrana broke into the top 10 all-time in career rebounds a few weeks ago, now at 646 in his four-year career, ninth-most all-time.
• The Eagles No. 13 preseason ranking marks the sixth straight season the Eagles have been ranked in the preseason national poll.
• Saturday's contest marks ERAU Head Coach Steve Ridder's 841st career game.
THE EAGLESEmbry-Riddle is 7-0 in 2014-15, one of just 11 unbeaten teams left in NAIA II (four of which are in The Sun Conference - Thomas, Warner, ERAU, Northwood). ERAU was dominant in a 79-63 win over NCAA II Nova Southeastern on Tuesday, getting 23 points and 12 rebounds from
Cesar Pastrana and 20 and seven assists from
DeForest Carter.
Pastrana's 16.0 points per game lead the Eagle offensive attack which averages 87.3 ppg and an impressive 54 percent efficiency on offense, including a 41 percent clip from long range.
Dalton Barnes (13.3 ppg), Carter (12.3) and
Joseph Gonzalez (10.9) also average in double-figures along with Pastrana.
Defensively, the Eagles are holding opponents to 40 percent shooting and 32 percent from three, forcing 19 turnovers per game.
THE MOUNTAINEERS Berea, coached by John Hemenway (5th season), is 2-0 on the year with wins over Kentucky Christian and Union (Ky.) on its resume. The Mountaineers are shooting 47 percent from the floor and a strong 52 percent from deep in their two contests thus far.
Richard Parker leads the way for BC with 19.5 points per gamem while three Mountaineers average at least 11.0 ppg, London Moore, Anthony Myrks and Seth Beckham. Tevin Webster has grabbed 7.5 rebounds per outing while Beckham has dished out 5.0 assists per contest.

Heading into his 26th season at the helm of the ERAU men's basketball program, Head Coach Steve Ridder ranks fifth on the NAIA Division II men's basketball winningest active coaches listing. Ridder has 612 wins in 26 seasons as the Eagles' head coach.Â
