THE EAGLESPlaying in their first-ever game, the Eagles downed Clearwater Christian on Friday night, 79-55. Taylor Cyphers led the Blue and Gold with 20 points while Kalah Martin added 18 points, nine rebounds and six steals and Ashley McWilliams chipped in 13 points and five assists.Embry-Riddle took a 6-4 lead on a Cyphers three just over two-and-a-half minutes into the game and never looked back. The lead grew to double-digits on a Cyphers lay-up with 12:32 left in the first half, making it an 18-8 game. ERAU would head into the locker room with a 40-26 halftime lead.
The Blue and Gold came out strong in the second period, scoring 12 of the first 13 points to increase the lead to 52-27 less than three minutes into the half. Cyphers hit a jumper with 7:14 remaining to cap a 10-2 run that put the home team ahead, 72-45. The Eagles maintained a comfortable advantage the rest of the way, claiming a 79-55 victory.

It may be early in the season, but the Eagles have their name plastered all over the NAIA leaderboards. ERAU is currently third in blocks/game (6.0), fifth in three-point FG made/game (11.0), fifth in steals per game (17.0), 10th in field goal percentage defense (.306), 10th in assists/game (20.0), 11th in free throw percentage (.778), 19th in rebounds/game (47.0) and 32nd in assist/turnover ratio (.909).
Individually, Kalah Martin leads the nation with six steals/contest, while Helga Fridriksdottir and Taylor Cyphers are tied for the national lead in three-point field goal percentage at 1.000. Cyphers is also second in field goal percentage (.800) and 36th in points/game (20.0). Martin checks in tied for 25th in three-point field goals made per game (3.0) and 43rd in rebounds/game (9.0). Sabrina Whiting is third with eight assists/game and Ashley McWilliams is 24th with five assists/game and 25th in three-point field goals made per game (3.0).
