Tuesday's contest marked the Eagles' first road win in Sun Conference play and improved their overall record to 11-5. With 12 games left in regular season play, the Eagles are currently in a three-way tie for fourth place in the conference standings.
For the fourth time this season, and the second time in as many games,
Sabrina Whiting was the leading scorer for the Blue and Gold, putting up 23 points against Thomas. Whiting is pacing the Eagle offense, averaging 12.1 points per game, and she is also tied with
Kalah Martin as the Eagles' assists leaders with both averaging 3.1 assists per contest.
Mercedes Jorge recorded her 10
th double-double of the year against Thomas and leads the Eagles on the boards, average eight rebounds per contest.
Taylor Cyphers, who had four blocks on Tuesday, leads ERAU that category at 2.3 blocks per game.
SCOUTING THE WILDCATSJohnson & Wales notched its second conference win of the season, downing Warner at home on Tuesday evening, 81-64. Fourth-year Head Coach Kymberly Hope's squad is now 7-10 overall and 2-4 in The Sun Conference after finishing tied for seventh in 2013-14.
Joanne Tran, who ranks 13
th nationally in the made three-pointers per game (2.9), is the Wildcats leading scorer with a 16.3 points-per-game average. Kristina Bridges leads JWU in rebounding (7.3 rpg) and assists (3.2 apg), while Diamond Williams leads the team in steals (2.0 spg).
