EMBRY-RIDDLEThe Blue and Gold (20-1, 8-1) are halfway through its Sun Conference schedule, but will play Florida Memorial on Saturday for the first time this season. Embry-Riddle has a two-game lead in the loss column in league play with nine games left to go.
The Eagles have gotten to 20-1 (the only one-loss team in NAIA II) by way of a high percentage shooting clip and a defense that allows just 63.4 points per game and outrebounds opponents by seven boards per contest. The Eagles are hitting 7.4 three-pointers per contest while keeping opponents at a 31 percent average from long range.
Reed Ridder and
Joseph Gonzalez have had two big games in ERAU's last two contests, helping the Eagles to wins over nationally-ranked Southeastern and Northwood. Ridder has scored 14 and 15 points, respectively, while Gonzalez has chipped in 13 points each of the last two outings.
FLORIDA MEMORIALThe Lions are in search of their first TSC win of the season and their second win overall in 2014-15. FMU has dropped 11 straight decisions, including a Thursday night loss to Thomas (64-57). Florida Memorial is averaging 60.3 ppg and 40.7 percent from the field.
Samuel Dorismond is the lone Lion to average in double-figures, scoring nearly 19 points per contest on 45 percent shooting. He leads the squad with 33 made threes on the season.
