WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Embry-Riddle women's track and field team finished up competition at the Hilton Garden Invitational on Saturday, achieving three national qualifying standards in the process.

The highlight of the day for the Eagles came in the Camel City Elite Mellow Mushroom Mile where senior All-American Ellie Staker competed against some the best professional collegiate mile runners in nation, including two Olympians.  Staker, who was the only non-professional/non-NCAA athlete invited to compete in the event, was the race's top collegiate finisher.  The Seattle, Wash. native finished seventh out of 14 runners with a school record and "A" standard time of 4:44.37.

ERAU's 4x400 team Kristen Metcalfe, Martina Tafoya, Marina LeVine, and Kandice Dixon also hit an "A" standard with a time of 3:58.78.

Freshman Daisha Brown added to the Eagles' success on Saturday as she achieved a "B" standard in the triple jump with a mark of 11.10m.

Overall, the Blue and Gold hit four qualifying standards and broke two school records at the Hilton Garden Invitational.  The Eagles will be in action again in two weeks when they head to Birmingham, Ala. for the Samford Indoor and Multi Invitational on Feb. 13.
