The Eagles shot 45.8 percent from the field and outrebounded the Seahawks 44-28 to secure the win. Four Eagles are scoring in double-figures, led by
Sabrina Whiting's 12.5 points per game. Whiting also leads the Eagles with 2.23 steals per contest and is second with 2.91 assists per outing.
Kalah Martin is second on the team with 11.6 points per game and leads the Blue and Gold with 3.17 assists per contest.
Mercedes Jorge is averaging 11.5 points and a team-best 8.1 rebounds per outing and
Taylor Cyphers is just behind her with 10.3 points and 7.8 rebounds per game.
SCOUTING THE FIRESoutheastern women's basketball currently sits in second place in the league standings with a 12-2 conference record and is 21-5 overall. The Fire are receiving votes in the latest NAIA II Top 25 Coaches' Poll as well. SEU hasn't lost since suffering a 72-69 road defeat at Webber Internatinoal on Jan. 20; since then the Fire have rattled off eight straight victories, and have won 14 of their last 15 games.
Southeastern shoots the ball well from the outside, ranking second in NAIA II in total three-point field goals made (327) and three-pointers made per game (12.58). Alyssa Ramos ranks second individually averaging 3.96 triples per contest while Carlie Newman (2.44, 24th) is also among the 25 best long-range shooters in the country. Newman also leads the team in rebounding (6.04) and Ramos is the top assist-getter for the Fire (1.96).THE ERAU-SEU SERIESThe Eagles and the Fire are meeting for the second time this season.
