LAKELAND, Fla. – The second-ranked Embry-Riddle women's tennis team got its second Sun Conference win of the season via a 7-0 shutout of Southeastern, Thursday at the Edgewood tennis courts. The Eagles are now 2-0 in league play and will take a 5-1 record into their Feb. 26 match against Saint Leo.
 
The third flight team of Ana Gonzalez-Hoy and Giovanna Tomiotto got the scoring started for the Eagles with an 8-2 defeat of Savannah Ewing and Alaina Ewing. Paula Ortiz Couder and Kathryn Bock followed with an 8-2 win over Alexis Quinn and Melanie Dodds at No. 2 doubles, and Hui-I Huang and Anna Götz kept the Eagles perfect in doubles by topping SEU's top pair of Kelsi Black and Emily Acerno, 8-3.
 
Ortiz Couder was the first to register a singles point for ERAU with her 6-3, 6-3 decision against Acerno on court three and, next to her on court four, Tomiotto clinched the Eagle victory  by downing Savannah Ewing 6-3, 6-2.
 
The Eagles' remaining two points came from Gonzalez-Hoy, who bested Dodds 6-1, 6-4 at No. 5, and Bock who topped Alaina Ewing 6-1, 6-2 on court six.
