DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle women's tennis team (6-3) rebounded from a loss on Monday to shut out St. Francis (Ill.) (7-4) 9-0 at the Crotty Tennis Complex on Thursday.
 
The Eagles gained an early 2-0 advantage as injuries forced the Saints to default at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles.
 
Kathryn Bock and Paula Ortiz Couder further added to the lead with their 8-0 shutout of Gabby Demchenko and Brit Kupiec, and Hui-I Huang and Anna Götz made it 4-0 with their 8-4 defeat of Danie Hoffman and Eva Lopez at the top spot.
 
In singles, Bock made quick work of her opponent at the fifth position, dispatching Collins 6-1, 6-0 to register the clinching point. At. No. 4 singles, Giovanna Tomiotto blanked Kupiec 6-0, 6-0 and Götz followed with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Demchenko on court two. Huang notched a 6-0, 6-1 victory against Hoffman at the top spot and Ortiz Couder secured the shutout with a 6-2, 6-4 decision against Lopez at No. 3.
 
The Eagles will continue their string of six matches in seven days on Friday when they host conference foe St. Thomas in a 3:30 p.m. contest.
