MELBOURNE, Fla. – The 10th-ranked Embry-Riddle men's tennis team had a successful return to Sunshine State Conference competition as the Eagles downed Florida Tech (2-1, 1-1) 7-2 on Sunday. ERAU won two of three doubles and five of six singles matches to improve to 4-2 overall and 2-1 in the SSC.

Rodolfo Arreygue and
Andres Donayre made quick work of Aria Canadell and Majed Alshaikh with an 8-1 win at the top spot.
Deepak Vishavkarma and Lucas Lesoeur earned the Eagles' second point with their 8-5 win over JJ Clark and Tijmon Louisy on court three, but FIT was able to avoid the doubles sweep when Ricky Corona and James Finnigan edged
Juan Ortiz Couder and Lucas Bos 9-8 (3).
For the second time in as many matches, Donayre was the first to finish his singles contest, downing Finnigan 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2. Vishavkarma was next off the court with his 6-4, 6-4 win over Corona at No. 3, and Ortiz Couder scored the clinching point for the Eagles by besting Canadell 6-2, 7-6 (2) at the top singles spot.
The next three matches were all three-setters that saw Bos down Clark 6-3, 3-6, 6-2, while Arryegue rallied for a 2-6, 6-1, 10-4 win over Alshaikh.
The Panthers got their final point of the day when Gerard Carpinell held off Lesoeur 6-3, 2-6, 10-7.
Next up for ERAU is a 3:30 p.m. match-up against Toledo on March 6 at the Eagles' Crotty Tennis Complex.
