WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The 16th-ranked Embry-Riddle men's tennis team suffered a loss in its regular season finale on Sunday, falling to Sunshine State Conference foe No. 19 Palm Beach Atlantic at the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center.

The Sailfish (15-8, 5-3 SSC) and the Eagles (11-7, 4-4 SSC) closed out the regular season at fourth and fifth, respectively in the league standings, and will likely face each other again in the SSC conference tournament later this week. Tournament play is scheduled for April 19-21 at the IMG Academy in Brandenton, Fla.

PBA gained an early advantage courtesy of a pair of wins in doubles. ERAU's Deepak Vishavkarma and Mickael Faucher won the first point of the day, downing Rodolfo Hasegawa and Thomas Salmon 8-6 on court three. Bernardo Ferreira and Philipp Hoffmann tied things up with an 8-4 win over Juan Ortiz Couder and Lucas Bos, and No. 28 Pato Zarazua and Pietro De Silva gave the home team the lead by holding off ninth-ranked Rodolfo Arreygue and Andres Donayre 8-6 at the top spot.

Hoffman got PBA's third point in an abbreviated match as he was leading Donayre 6-1, 1-1 before Donayre retired with an injury. Hasegawa topped Vishavkarma 6-4, 6-4 at No. 3 singles and Carlos Niemeyer scored the clincher with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Faucher on court six.

The Eagles only singles point came at the fourth singles position where Arreygue bested de Silva 6-4, 6-4.

The SSC office will release the tournament bracket later this week.
