CLERMONT, Fla. – A handful of athletes from the ERAU women's track & field team traveled to Clermont yesterday for the Pure Athletics/NTC Sprint Elite Meet. Embry-Riddle captured four event wins, including two first-place finishes for
Christina Isenard.
Isenard narrowly defeated teammate Merari Coronado in the shot put with a mark of 13.01m, less than a foot farther than Coronado's mark of 12.72m. Isenard also won the hammer with a throw of 44.38m. Phoebe Gustely gave the Blue and Gold its third win in the throwing events with a top distance of 43.77m in the discus.
On the track, the 4x400m relay team of Ukeyvia Beckwith,
Daisha Brown,
Breona Butts, and
Kristen Metcalfe clocked an event-winning time of 3:50.31. Beckwith also took fourth in the high jump with a height of 1.60m and sixth in the 400m in 1:00.29.
Kortney Gray also competed on Saturday, finishing 11th in the 100m hurdles in 14.55.
The final meet of the 2017-18 season is the NCAA II Outdoor National Championships which will take place May 24-26 in Charlotte, N.C. Qualifiers for the national meet will be announced on Tuesday, May 15.
