NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Embry-Riddle women's track & field team is ranked first in the latest NCAA II South Region Rankings, released Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The rankings are determined using the national descending order lists for individual and relay events to calculate a point total for each team. The higher an athlete is ranked in the descending order lists, the more points he or she accumulates for his or her team; the more high-ranking athletes a team has, the higher their score.
The Eagles earned 412.27 points to lead the way ahead of Lee (365.52) and Benedict (308.83). Alabama – Huntsville (289.25) and Montevallo (284.29) round out the top five.
The Eagles are back in action on Saturday, Feb. 16 when they travel to Columbia, South Carolina for the USC Indoor Open.
