COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Embry-Riddle women's track & field team concluded the Gamecock Opener on Saturday. A trio of personal bests were set as well as a pair of collegiate bests.
"USC was a great opener for our squad," Assistant Coach
Peter Hopfe said. "Our athletes were coming off a heavy workweek and still performed well. We had a number of personal records and we are looking forward to more as our season progresses."
Alyssa Zack (2:26.22) and
Morgan Dudley (2:26.64) both set personal bests in the 800m while Dejah Saunders clocked a PR of 9.51 in the 60m hurdles.
Kara Funke ran a collegiate-best time of 11:00.1 in the 3000m and
Devonne Friday set a collegiate best in the 60m hurdles (9.50).
Maggie Allen also set an indoor personal best with a time of 20:05.7 in the 5000m.
The team of
Ukeyvia Beckwith, Friday, Zack, and
Anna Miller earned a fifth-place finish in the Distance Medley Relay with a time of 12:42.26.
Next weekend, the Eagles will host the annual ERAU Indoor/Outdoor Challenge on Saturday, Jan. 25.
