TAMPA, Fla. – On a chilly night in Tampa, the Embry-Riddle women's track & field team took part in the Tampa Track Classic. With less than ideal conditions, qualifying marks proved to be nearly impossible for any competitors throughout the night, while PRs were also very difficult to come by.
Devonne Friday won the 400m hurdles in a personal-record time of 1:05.35, finishing just ahead of teammate Tyller Campbell who was second in 1:08.50.
Nina Richardson took second place overall and was the top collegiate finisher in the 100m in 12.28, just 0.02 seconds behind the event winner, who was an unattached athlete. Richards also finished third in the 200m in 25.52, while
Sara Towers placed fourth in the 400m with a time of 1:04.18.
Rachel Jones placed fifth in the 1500m, clocking a personal-best time of 4:59.23, while
Grayson Iller was 10th in 5:11.02.
Next up is the NCAA II Indoor National Championships in Birmingham, Alabama, slated for March 13-14. The Eagles will return to outdoor competition at the Bulls Invitational in Tampa March 20-21.
