ERAU Men's Track & Field Places Three on All-Academic Roster

NEW ORLEANS, La. — The Embry-Riddle men's track and field team had three individuals garner All-Academic Athlete honors, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced on Thursday.

Connor Guinn, Charles Hruda and Calahan Warren met the requirements for recognition as they each completed at least 24 semesters with a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA, and achieved an automatic or provisional qualifying mark (individual or relay event) for the 2020 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships.

Guinn is a 4.0 student in ERAU's Masters of Business Administration program. He posted a provisional qualifying mark and personal best score of 4,853 points in the heptathlon at the Samford Invitational in his first competition of the season.

Hruda and Warren comprised half of the distance medley squad that posted a qualifying time of 9:55.14 at the South Carolina Invitational on Feb. 8, which was a school record and was good for the No. 22 seed in the NCAA II Indoor National Championship field.

Warren also qualified for the Mile and the 3,000m at the indoor national meet, rewriting the Eagle record books in both events. He ran a 4:03.08 at the Carolina Challenge (Jan. 31) in the Mile and an 8:08.20 in the 3000m at the Music City Challenge (Feb. 15).

Hruda has a 4.0 GPA in Civil Engineering, while Warren graduated with a 3.773 GPA in Aerospace Physiology in May.
