NEW ORLEANS, La. — Members of the Embry-Riddle track and field teams garnered outdoor track and field All-Region recognition from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Friday. The ERAU men's and women's track and field teams combined to take home 27 honors in the South Region.
To earn All-Region honors, an athlete must be one of the top five individuals in his/her event in their respective region. In addition, each member of a region's top three relay teams was selected for the distinction.
For the second straight year,
Ukeyvia Beckwith was honored as an All-Region selection in four events, including the high jump, 400m, 800m and 4x400m relay.
Sierra Coward, who set the ERAU record in the heptathlon (4,544 points), garnered All-Region honors in the heptathlon and 100m hurdles.
Nina Richardson and
Morgan Dudley were both members of the All-Region 4x400m relay team. Richardson was a repeat selection in the 200m, and Dudley was selected for her performance in the 400m hurdles.
Heinrich Adriaanse and
Connor Guinn were both two-time All-Region honorees with both earning All-Region honors in the decathlon. Guinn, who had an ERAU season-best leap of 2.01m in the high jump, was an All-Region selection in that discipline, while Adriaanse was an All-Region selection in the discus. His career-best throw of 46.71m was also an ERAU season-best.
