DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – It's been nearly six years since the Embry-Riddle men's golf team competed in a regular season tournament in its hometown, but that streak will end when the Eagles participate in the Daytona Beach Spring Invitational, one of two competitions recently added to Embry-Riddle's 2023 spring slate.
From March 6-7, Eastern Kentucky hosts the Eagles along with 18 NCAA Division I programs for three rounds around LPGA International. The course previously served as the site for the Eagle Invitational, which was last held in 2017.
"It will be nice to be able to compete on a familiar course," said Head Coach
Ken Staton. "With it being six years since our last tournament here, we can't wait to have the opportunity to play in front of our fans again."
One week later, Embry-Riddle travels to Valdosta, Georgia, for the First Federal Southeastern Collegiate on March 13-14. It's the Eagles' first regular-season competition outside of the Sunshine State in just under three years. The Tournament will be hosted by Valdosta State at the Kinderlou Forest Golf Club, a course familiar to the Blue and Gold's
Ian Aldarondo as he competed there for the 2022 NCAA II South/Southeast Super Regional.
The two additions bring Embry-Riddle up to five tournaments in the spring and eight overall, the most in a season since 2016-17.
The 2022-23 Embry-Riddle men's golf season is presented by Tijuana Flats.
