DADE CITY, Fla. - The Embry-Riddle men's golf team shot an 875 (291-290-294), the second-best three-round score in the history of the program, to finish eighth out of 17 teams at the Saint Leo Invitational. Competitors played three rounds on the par-72, 7,173-yard course at the Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club.

Ian Aldarondo once again broke into the program record books with his fifth-place finish of 210 (68-72-70). His stroke total over the first two (140) and three (210) rounds were the second-lowest in program history. Aldarondo now holds the two lowest 54-hole scores in the Eagle record books. The senior had the best opening round by an Eagle this season with a 68 (-4), his fifth sub-70 round of 2021-22. Additionally, his 15 birdies were the most on the team and tied for the third most in the 99-player field.

Tiago Barni participated in his first tournament as an Eagle. He breezed through the course with 16 pars and a birdie in the first round and ended with an overall score of 219 (72-72-75).

After making his Eagle debut two weeks ago, Beau Coenraad returned to the lineup with a 224 (75-74-75). He shot his best round of the season in round two (74) and had the lone eagle on the team, which occurred on the par-5, 534-yard ninth hole.

John Triplett (76-72-77=225) ended the first round on a high note by going two under par in the last seven holes thanks to a trio of birdies. Throughout the course of the tournament, he tallied nine birdies.

Pablo Robles matched his performance from his previous tournament, the Matlock Invitational, with a 226 (76-76-74) shot total.

Tied at 849 at the end of the third round, Lee (278-286-285) defeated Nova Southeastern (283-287-279) in a playoff to claim victory. Keiser (289-282-281=852) edged out Lynn (289-282-282=853) for third, and Valdosta State (284-287-287=858) rounded out the top-5.

There also was a playoff for the individual title as Lee's Beck Burnette beat Lynn's Alejandro Madariaga on the third playoff hole. Both finished with a 10-under-par 206.

Embry-Riddle returns to action on Monday, March 7 for the two-day Panther Invitational at the Duran Golf Club in Melbourne, Florida.
