VIERA, Fla. – A strong final round saw the Embry-Riddle men's golf team jump one position to 11th place at the conclusion of the three-day Panther Invitational. The Eagles (315-309-297=921) improved their score in each round as the tournament progressed, a first for the season.

Whereas Embry-Riddle thrived at the par-5, 540-yard hole No. 15 in round two, it was hole No. 11, also a par-5, that aided the Eagles in round three as four members of the Blue and Gold recorded a score below par.

Similar to the team's overall performance, Ian Aldarondo (79-75-72=226) lowered the amount of strokes needed to complete all 18 holes round after round. His 72 in round three was the eighth time this season the senior tallied a score at or below par. Additionally, it's the sixth time in as many tournaments the San Juan, Puerto Rico, native finished with the lowest score on the team this season.

John Triplett (80-72-77=229) held the team lead after the second round of play thanks to a 72 and finished only three strokes behind Aldarondo. The junior tied for 38th on the leaderboard, his second best finish of the year.

An 11-stroke improvement in the third round helped Pablo Robles rebound to finish with a 235 (80-83-72). His final-round shot total of 72 matched the second best round score of his 2021-22 campaign, largely thanks to his consistent play leading to 16 holes parred.

Tiago Barni (76-81-84=241) was back on the course for the Eagles for the second time this season. Both he and Beau Coenraad (84-81-76) finished with 241 strokes.

Individual competitor Michael Faringer (75-76-76=227) earned his highest finish of the season (T-33rd) thanks to three scores in the mid-70s. Tyler Reese (82-76-80=238), who also participated as an individual, competed in his first tournament for Embry-Riddle in five months. He recorded season-bests in single-round score (76), tournament shot total (238), and finishing position (T-62nd).

No. 1 Barry (288-287-280=855) controlled the tournament from start to finish. The Buccaneers beat Eastern Florida State (301-290-283=874) by 19 strokes. Keiser (298-295-285=878) grabbed the final spot on the podium while South Carolina Beaufort (301-293-288=882) and Nova Southeastern (310-291-282=883) battled for fourth and fifth position.

Barry's A.J. Ewart (70-71-67=208) and Felipe Alvarez (70-68-70=208) tied at the end of 54 holes to force a playoff, which was won by Alvarez.

The Eagles have a lengthy break until their next tournament, the Battle at the Shores from April 4-5 in Miami Shores at the Normandy Shores Golf Club.
