Blanco, Wira Hadipoernomo Earn All-Conference Honors

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Itxaso Blanco and Jessica Wira Hadipoernomo have both garnered All-Sunshine State Conference recognition in women's tennis according to an announcement made by the league office on Wednesday. Voting for the All-SSC teams was conducted among the league's women's tennis coaches.

Blanco was named to the All-SSC first team in singles, while Wira Hadipoernomo was named to the singles second team. They are the first ERAU women's tennis student-athletes to earn All-SSC honors.

Both Blanco and Wira Hadipoernomo posted identical 17-6 singles records, which led all Embry-Riddle players this season. Blanco played all but one of her 18 dual matches at No. 1 singles posting a 14-3 record. Her 15-3 overall spring record included a 15-match unbeaten streak from Feb. 9 to April 6. She was 6-2 in conference play.

Wira Hadipoernomo played most of her 18 dual matches at the No. 3 position, earning a 13-3 record at that spot. Like Blanco, she owned a 6-2 league record, and was undefeated in 15 straight matches. Wira Hadipoernomo had a team-best 16-10 doubles record and was 10-7 in partnership with Mafalda Soares at No. 2 doubles.

The duo led the Eagles to their best season as NCAA II members. The Blue and Gold achieved a program-best No. 21 national ranking and posted a 12-9 overall record.
