DAVIE, Fla. - After severe weather allowed only one round of play on Monday, the Embry-Riddle men's golf team managed to get in two rounds on Tuesday to finish the Shark Invitational in 14th with 909 strokes (305-297-307). All rounds were held at the par-71, 6,731-yard Grande Oaks Course at the Grande Oaks Golf Club. It was a challenging 16-team field that boasted four ranked programs in No. 1 Barry, No. 2 Nova Southeastern, No. T-20 Saint Leo, and No. 25 Tampa as well as four squads receiving votes in Florida Southern, Lynn, Shorter, and Rollins.

The Eagles brought the same lineup to Davie that they used at last week's Jay Jennison Cup, which ERAU placed fourth in.

Georgios Pachiadakis (78-72-73=223) ended as the top Eagle on the team thanks to a 72 and 73 on Tuesday with the help of 27 total pars, 14 of which came consecutively during the senior's third round. Most of his success occurred on par-5 holes, of which he averaged 4.89 strokes.

Tiago Barni (73-73-79) continued his consistent play into round two, but a difficult third round pushed his score to 225. However, the junior did record a team-high nine birdies.

Brandon Godfrey shot a pair of 77s on Tuesday to add to his 78 from day one for a total of 232 strokes, and Aleksandar Abrashev followed a similar path with two 78s on the final day of action coupled with Monday's 79 to equal 235 shots.

Edoardo Scialanga (76-75-87=238) recorded his best round of the event in round two with a 75 and used that momentum to go one under par through the first four holes of round three.

Though competing as an individual, Jacob Salazar (73-75-74=222) had the lowest score out of all participating Eagles. In round two, the junior was one under par on the round through seven holes. Then in the third round, he shook off a tough opening hole and proceeded to shoot two under par over the next 13 holes. Salazar found success on par-4s, tying for the ninth lowest stroke average in the field on such holes (4.03).

Florida Southern (284-286-285=855) edged Saint Leo (292-284-280=856) for the win while Union (295-283-288=866), Lynn (292-283-293) and Shorter (286-290-294=870) battled for spots inside the top five.

The Lions' Enzo Barbaglia (72-68-66=206) was the top individual by five strokes.

Next up is the Citrus Intercollegiate on Oct. 30 and 31 to finish out the fall schedule.
