CHAMPIONSGATE, Fla. - An 880 stroke total at the Citrus Intercollegiate put the Embry-Riddle men's golf team (301-281-298) into a tie for ninth place with Palm Beach Atlantic to close the fall slate on Tuesday. It was the first time the Eagles competed at this tournament.

Per usual, it was a deep 13-team field featuring three ranked programs (No. 9 Nova Southeastern, No. 10 Barry, and No. 17 Tampa), four squads receiving votes (Palm Beach Atlantic, Union [Tenn.], Missouri Southern State, and Washburn), and the top-ranked program in the NAIA in Keiser. Play was held at the par-72, 6,865-yard ChampionsGate Golf Club.

All tournament long, the Blue and Gold excelled on par-5 holes, averaging the second-lowest strokes in the field at 4.95.

In his first tournament of the season, Michael Faringer (74-69-75) earned his fifth-career top-20 result thanks to a 218 that slotted him into a tie for 16th. The senior thrived on par-4s, needing an average of 3.93 strokes to complete such holes, which was 10th best out of 72 competitors. Additionally, his 38 pars were a team high and tied for the sixth most at the competition.

Georgios Pachiadakis (73-73-74) started and ended Tuesday's round strong with back-to-back birdies on his second and third holes. Then the senior went one under par over his final six holes to finish with a 74 in round three and a 220 total. Pachiadakis enjoyed much success on par-5s, going four under par (4.67) on such holes over three rounds. His 10 birdies were three more than any other Eagle.

Tiago Barni (75-71-76) started the third round one under par over the first four holes and ended with a 76 for 222 total strokes.

Edoardo Scialanga (79-68-78=225) was the top Eagle on par-3 holes with an average of 3.17 strokes.

This was John Triplett's (81-76-73=230) last collegiate tournament, and he closed his career out on a strong note with a 73 on Tuesday, the lowest score of the round by an Eagle. He notched four birdies, all of which occurred over an eight-hole stretch.

Nova Southeastern (286-285-286=857) won the tournament by one stroke over Barry (287-286-285=858) while Rollins (292-283-287=862), Keiser (290-287-286=863), and Tampa (284-282-298=864) battled for spots inside the top five.

Keiser's Isac Wallin (72-66-71=209) narrowly beat a trio of golfers by a shot for the individual victory.

It's a three-month break for the Eagles before the spring season begins at the Matlock Collegiate Classic from Feb. 5-6 in Lakeland, Florida.
