Record-Breaking Day Highlights Women’s Track & Field’s Final Indoor Meet

MacKenzie Keller
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Two school records and a provisional qualifying time marked the Embry-Riddle Women's Track & Field team's performance at the Florida Last Chance meet on Thursday. Thursday's meet was held at the Alachua County Sports Complex and is the final indoor meet of the season for the Eagles.

The first ERAU record to fall on Thursday was in the triple jump. Mikaela Miles, who owns all but one of the top 10 marks in program history, broke her own record with a leap of 12.06m (39-6.74) to finish first.

Just one week after setting the ERAU standard in the 3000m, Ariana Anderson returned to the Alachua County Sports Complex and shaved more than two seconds off that time, winning Thursday's race in 9:57.47.

Competing in the Mile, MacKenzie Keller moved into the Eagles' all-time top 10 with a career-best time of 4:55.12. In addition to taking over the No. 7 spot on the Eagles' all-time listing and bettering her previous PR by close to 10 seconds, she hit the NCAA II provisional standard.

The outdoor track and field season gets underway on Saturday when Embry-Riddle hosts the First Chance Last Chance Invitational at the Embry-Riddle Track & Field Complex.
