PUEBLO, COLO. – The Embry-Riddle women's track and field team capped a strong showing at the NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championships on Saturday afternoon. Maxi Kirschner and Mikaela Miles both delivered top 20 finishes in the javelin and triple jump, respectively, with Miles notching a career-best performance that made ERAU history.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Miles earned another First Team All-American honor, finishing third in the triple jump. She broke her own ERAU record with all six jumps and closed the event with a career-best mark of 13.10m. Her third-place finish secured a historic result for the program.
- Kirschner made her nationals debut in her senior season and placed in the top 20 in the javelin with a solid throw of 41.92m.
Team Finish
The Blue and Gold placed 26th in the nation, the highest ranking for any team in the South Region, with 10 points. Miles, Kirschner, Taylor Roth and Brooklynn Gould brought home two ERAU records, four top 20 finishes and two First-Team All-Americans.
