Women’s Basketball Places Four on Academic All-District Roster

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle women's basketball team had four individuals named to the Academic All-District roster as announced by College Sports Communicators on Tuesday afternoon. Keturah Balabyekkubo, Rachel Murray, Madyson Jean-Louis and Jenna Teterycz, all of whom have started every game for the Eagles this season, were all recognized for their combined athletic and academic performances.
 
To be eligible for recognition, a student-athlete must have achieved sophomore status with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50 with participation in at least 50 percent of the team's games.
 
Balabyekkubo (Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada) is a Human Factors Psychology major with a 3.861 cumulative GPA who is a three-time Sunshine State Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll honoree and a two-time recipient of the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award. She leads the team in rebounding 6.0 rpg) and is averaging 11.3 points, two assists and two steals per game, while shooting 46.0 percent from the field.
 
Jean-Louis is the Eagles' leading scorer at 13.0 points per game. The Grand Prairie, Texas sophomore leads the Eagles from long range (39.3 percent) and the free throw line (77.9 percent) and averages 3.8 boards, 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals per contest. Jean-Louis carries a 3.78 GPA in Aviation Business Administration.
 
Murray (Waynesville, Ohio) completed her undergraduate degree in Business Administration with a 3.625 GPA, and currently has a 3.750 GPA in pursuit of her MBA. Shooting 32.8 percent from long range and 75.8 percent from the charity stripe, she averages 10.5 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. Murray has also garnered multiple SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll and D2 ADA Academic Achievement honors.
 
Teterycz is a native of Staten Island, New York who is in her second season playing for the Eagles. A Homeland Security major with a 3.775 GPA, she has been named to the SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll twice and was a 2021-22 D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award selection. She currently averages 6.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game, and is shooting 48.1 percent from the field.
 
The quartet will be in action on Wednesday, hosting Rollins in the final home game of the regular season. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m.
