Men’s Track and Field Notches One Provisional Standard and Seven Personal Bests During First Day of Florida University Invitational and Multi

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Another week, another trip to Gainesville as the Embry-Riddle men's track and field team returned to the Alachua County Sports Complex on Thursday, this time for the Florida University Invitational and Multi. Six Eagles set personal bests on day one of the meet, the most notable of which was Brendon Shea's NCAA II provisional standard time of 8:19.06 in the 3000m. It was also the fourth-fastest mark in program history. Teammate Andrew Stowe also notched a fast time. His mark of 8:30.59 was the 10th quickest in the ERAU record books and a personal best.

In the field, pole vaulters Michael Kotey and Colin McNally tied for first in the event thanks to PRs of 4.35m.

John Bai had a great start to the heptathlon as the senior earned personal bests in the long jump (5.26m) and shot put (8.47). However, it was Heinrich Adriaanse who led the event after day one with 1,836 points with three disciplines remaining.

During the last event of the day, Craig Dedrick III stopped the clock at 22.38 to set a PR in the 200m. 
 
The action concludes tomorrow with nine track and four field events for the men as well as the final three disciplines in the heptathlon. The first event of the day, the weight throw, begins at 9 a.m.
