Women’s Track Competes at Knights Invitational

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle women's track and field saw more personal records set on the first day of competition at the UCF Knights Invitational on Friday.
 
Friday's competition began with the Eagles taking four of the top 10 spots in the discus. Sophia Gustely was sixth with a throw of 40.76m (133-8) followed by Madison Morris' seventh place throw of 39.73m (130-4). The Eagles also took the eighth and ninth spots with personal bests for Victoria Perez-Davids (39.34m (129-1)) and Amberleigh Sauer (39.17m (128-6)).
 
Gustely topped the podium in the javelin with a throw of 38.80m (127-3). Maxime Kirschner was fourth with a toss of 37.43m (122-9).
 
Sauer's second PR of the day came in the shot put as she recorded a 12.22m (40-1.25) throw in her first attempt to finish fifth.
 
Ariana Anderson headlined the Eagles' performances on the track winning the Steeplechase nearly two minutes ahead of the second-place finisher in a time of 10:56.16.
 
Tanija Turner improved on her 200m PR with a time of 27.29, while Ravyn Edge ran a personal best 4:56.21 in the 1500m run which featured a third-place finish for Mackenzie Keller (4:39.95).
 
The Eagles conclude competition at the UCF Knights Invitational on Saturday.
