Women’s Track & Field Competes at Tampa Distance Classic

TAMPA, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle women's track and field team wrapped up its second meet of the outdoor season at the Tampa Distance Classic hosted by the University of Tampa on Friday.
 
The Eagles notched a win their first event of the day when Laura McBride broke the tape in the 400m hurdles in a time of 1:04.04.
 
A few races later, Tanija Turner turned in a personal-best time of 1:05.51 in the 400m dash.
 
The 800m run featured a podium sweep for the Blue and Gold. Ukeyvia Beckwith won the event in 2:14.18. McBride was second in 2:16.75 and Morgan Dudley placed third in 2:18.49.
 
Ariana Anderson paced the Eagles with a season-best time of 17:24.47 finish fourth in the 5000m. Kelly Steffens (18:49.85) and Maggie Allen (18:52.54) also posted season bests, while Kendal Mathis had a career-best run of 19:15.71
 
The Eagles' next competition will be at the River City Relays hosted by the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, March 16-17.
