2023-24 Embry-Riddle Men's Basketball Schedule
DAYTONA BEACH, Florida - Head Coach
Steve Ridder and his Embry-Riddle men's basketball team will look to make it four consecutive trips to the NCAA II National Tournament in 2023-24, and they'll attempt to do that against a 28-game slate that features 15 games in the ICI Center. 2023-24 will mark Ridder's 35th at the helm of the Blue and Gold, and the 39th-winningest coach in collegiate men's basketball history has put together a tough and balanced schedule for the Eagles.
Embry-Riddle went 19-12 overall, qualifying as an at-large participant for the NCAA II National Tournament where they fell to eventual NCAA South Region finalist Alabama Huntsville. ERAU went 10-10 in the Sunshine State Conference.
The Eagles will get a little jump on most of the NCAA II ranks when they trek to Spain in August as part of a NCAA sanctioned preseason international tour. ERAU will have the opportunity to practice for several days prior to their departure early in August, and then will compete in four games while in Spain.
The official start to the 2023-24 season will be in Carrollton, Georgia for the South Region Crossover (Nov. 10-11). The Eagles will take on Morehouse for the first time in program history to open the season on Nov. 10, followed by a date with last season's fellow NCAA National Tournament participant West Georgia on Nov. 11.
The Eagles host Spring Hill on Nov. 13 in the ICI Center in their first home game of the campaign, followed by a short trip north to St. Augustine to take on rival Flagler on Nov. 16.
A pair of first time opponents for ERAU will come to Daytona Beach Nov. 20 and Nov. 25 as the University of Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras and Fort Lauderdale are set to clash with the Eagles during the week of Thanksgiving.
Sunshine State Conference play gets underway on Dec. 2 as the Eagles go to Florida Southern to take on the Mocs before Florida Tech comes to town on Dec. 8 for ERAU's first home SSC contest.
The Embry-Riddle Holiday Classic is slated for Dec. 16-17 with Columbus State and Shaw set to play the Eagles prior to the Christmas break, and wrapping up ERAU's non-conference schedule.
The 2023 calendar year finishes up on Dec. 30 with a showdown with the defending NCAA II National Champion Sharks of Nova Southeastern in Fort Lauderdale. The Eagles stay on the road to take on Tampa to begin the New Year on Jan. 3.
Four of the next five games will be played in the ICI Center as Lynn (Jan. 6), Palm Beach Atlantic (Jan. 10), Saint Leo (Jan. 17), and Rollins (Jan. 20) visit Daytona, sandwiched around a road trip to Barry (Jan. 13).
The final week of January sees the Eagles traveling to Eckerd (Jan. 24) before playing host to Tampa (Jan. 27).Â
Florida Tech will host ERAU on Feb. 3, followed by a tough two-game home stand against Florida Southern (Feb. 7) and Nova Southeastern (Feb. 10).Â
On Valentine's Day the Blue and Gold will take on Rollins in Winter Park before heading to Saint Leo to tangle with the Lions on Feb. 17.
The final two weeks of the regular season will have two home and two away games, starting with a home date against Eckerd (Feb. 21) and a road trip to Palm Beach Atlantic (Feb. 24), and concluding with Barry coming to Daytona Beach on Feb. 28 and the regular season finale at Lynn on March 2.
The winner of the Sunshine State Conference Tournament will receive the league's automatic bid to the NCAA II National Tournament.
Â
NCAA Regional play will begin March 15, 2024Â and run through March 19, 2024 with the Elite Eight slated for March 26-30, 2024 in Evansville, Indiana.
