GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The Embry-Riddle women's track and field program started off the Florida Collegiate Invitational, with multiple personal records set and a provisional time hit on day one at the Alachua County Sports Complex.
In the mile, MacKenzie Keller came in second place, running it in a provisional time of 4:56.05, the eighth-best in program history. Alaina Rider also set a personal best in the mile with a time of 5:27.43.
Megan Grant came in second place in the high jump with a leap of 1.47m.
Resa Akers set another personal best, as she had a 2.95m mark in the pole vault, also coming in fourth place in the event.
Another personal record was set when Nithya Chummar ran a 1:45.98 in the 600m.
Ciara Thomas also set a personal record time of 25.26 in the 200m, which also places fourth-best in program history and got her third place in the race.
Mikaela Miles came in first place in the long jump with a 5.25m leap, while Tanija Turner's 5.00m jump got her fifth place, an indoor personal record for her.
In the distance medley relay, the ERAU team of Anna Miller, Nina Richardson, Laura McBride and Keller had a provisional time of 11:57.06, earning them second place as well as the fourth-best time in program history.
The Eagles are back in action tomorrow morning, as they'll compete in day two of the Florida Collegiate Invitational.
