LAKELAND, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle men's tennis team closed out play in the 2024 ITA Division South Region tournament at the Beerman Tennis Center on Tuesday.
Competition in the doubles consolation bracket saw
Alvaro Diaz Rodrigo and
Wilson Igbinovia advance to the consolation final. The duo earned a win by default in the quarterfinals and in the semifinals, they held off Auburn-Montgomery's Dominik Vonbank and Raphael Pertusier 8-7 (4) to earn a spot in the final.
Diaz Rodrigo also secured a berth in the consolation singles final courtesy of an 8-3 defeat of Dylan Andrianaly of Saint Leo.
The consolation final matches will not be played.
The Eagles' next competition takes place Nov. 1-3 when they host the ERAU Invite at the Crotty Tennis Complex.
