LAKELAND, Fla. – The 2024 Sunshine State Conference Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships concluded Friday and the Embry-Riddle women's cross country team claimed fifth place with 111 points. Mackenzie Keller earned SSC Women's Cross Country Championship Team honors with her 8th place finish in the 6K event (22:45.8).

Keller's stellar season continues as she claimed her fourth top-10 finish of the year after previously placing fifth in the Holloway Opener, second at the ERAU Classic and third in the Georgia Tech Invite, the latter of which where she collected her 6K PR.

Taylor Roth was the next Eagle to cross the finish line, running a 23:30.3 for 22nd place. Roth and Keller were both off their PRs, but look to improve at the NCAA II Regional Championships in two weeks on a favorable UAH Course at full strength.

Kendall Mathis was next in line for the Blue & Gold, earning a top-25 finish with her time of 23:43.9. Not quite at her PR mark, Mathis faired well in her first 6K of the year with a lap pace of 6:21.9.

Following Mathis were newcomers Charlotte O'Brien (29th – 24:00.4) and Emily Tubbs (36th – 24:17.7). Both O'Brien and Tubbs set new 6K benchmarks for themselves in their first ever collegiate 6K as a freshmen, while ending up in the top-half of the 92-runner field.

Rounding out the ERAU runners were Ravyn Edge (42nd – 24:36.8), Alaina Rider (43rd – 24:39.8), Allegra Triner (46th – 24:43.4), Nithya Chummar (52nd – 25:12.6) and Eve Downs (71st – 26:48.6). Edge, Rider and Chummar, all running in their final SSC Championships, competed hard down the stretch. Edge and Rider finished back-to-back in the same pack, while Chummar passed and fended off a FSC runner. Triner and Downs each competed in their first Conference Championships, finishing just off PRs set in the last race at the GT Invite.

With the favorable UAH course on the horizon, head coach Mike Rosolino and his Eagles are set for a top-notch showing in the NCAA II Regionals in two weeks, hoping for a shot at the NCAA II National Championships on Nov. 23.
