DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Embry-Riddle cheerleading team is preparing to make its third-consecutive trip to the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) College Nationals in an effort to claim a national title, with this year's competition beginning on Thursday inside the Ocean Center and lasting until Friday. The Eagles placed 11th in each of their previous two attempts.

This year, Embry-Riddle will be competing against 19 other programs, an increase of two from 2023, in the Intermediate Coed Division II. The Eagles are one of just two squads from Florida in their division vying for the coveted golden megaphone trophy, with the other being Eckerd.

ERAU is scheduled to compete on both Thursday and Friday. Embry-Riddle is the first program in the division to perform with a 2:27 p.m. start time at the Ocean Center on Thursday, April 11. The performance will make up 25 percent of the Eagles' score. However, with rain expected to pass through the area on that day, it could move performances from the Bandshell to the Ocean Center and affect the current schedule.

The other 75 percent of the team's final score comes from their routine on Friday. Embry-Riddle will not receive a start time for Friday's routine until all scores have been tallied from Thursday, though it will be between 1:20 p.m. and 5:20 p.m. The award ceremony is slated for 6:27 p.m.

Fans can watch the Eagles compete in person by purchasing tickets here. A live stream will also be provided by Varsity TV for those with a paid membership.
The 2023-24 cheerleading season is presented by Daytona Kia.
