MIAMI BEACH, Fla. - Edoardo Scialanga earned his first collegiate top-10 finish for Embry-Riddle men's golf as the Eagles (297-288-295=880) came away with a 14th-place showing at the Battle at the Shores. The 880 total strokes as a team was the program's lowest score ever at the event.

The 16-team field featured three programs ranked inside the top 25 of the Clippd rankings, including No. 10 Florida Southern, No. 12 Saint Leo, and No. 13 Nova Southeastern. All teams competed at the par-71, 6,733-yard course at the Normandy Shores Golf Club.

Over 54 holes, the Blue and Gold racked up a tournament-high five eagles, three of which came from Scialanga on the same hole every round - the par-5, 529-yard 18th hole. A fourth belonged to Jacob Salazar's hole-in-one in the second round, and Tiago Barni added a fifth in round three.

Scialanga ended the tournament tied for ninth as his 209 (69-68-72) total matched the second-best 54-hole score in the history of the program. He registered the most eagles in the 93-player field with three, thanks partly due to his success on par-5s. The freshman was eight under par on such holes and tied for the best average (4.11) by any individual. Additionally, Scialanga led the squad in birdies with 13, which also was tied for the fourth most at the event.

Barni fired a 73 in round three for a total of 219 (75-71-73=219) strokes.

Salazar's success on par-3s allowed him to tie his season-best three-round score of 222 (77-70-75). On par-3 holes, the junior tied for the lowest average with 2.75 strokes (-3).

Ryan Gear (76-79-75) recorded the most pars on the team with 32 en route to a season-low 230 score.

In his first tournament of the spring, Aleksandar Abrashev shot a 239 (78-86-75).

Nova Southeastern (273-282-280=835) claimed the tournament by five strokes over Saint Leo (272-288-280=840). Barry (274-280-289=843) and Tampa (289-285-269=843) tied for third.

The Lions' Alex Heck (66-69-68=203) finished as the top individual.

The Eagles now must prepare for postseason play with the Sunshine State Conference Tournament in Boca Raton, Florida at the Osprey Point Golf Club from April 21-23.
