Eagles Soar in First Meet of the Indoor Season

Gainesville, Fla. — The Embry-Riddle women's track and field team kicked off its 2025 season with an impressive showing at the Jimmy Carnes Invite in Gainesville, Fla. The Eagles made their mark with record-breaking performances, and promising signs for the season ahead. 

Highlight Performances 

  • Mikaela Miles: In the triple jump, Miles soared to 12.27m, just one centimeter shy of her own school record. She now holds the top three distances in the program's history and met the provisional standards (11.72m) set for the NCAA Division II national championship qualification. 

  • Allegra Triner: Triner, a freshman, competed in two events the 800m (2:26.14) and mile (5:28.24) recording strong starts to her college career. 

  • Eve Downs: Downs made her freshman debut in the 800m with a time of 2:30. 

  • Pole Vault: The pole vault saw an all-freshman field with Madeline Ampleman (2.50m), Leila Spruill (2.95m) and Mckenna Panos (2.95m), all posting top 30 heights in the university record book.  

The Eagles are back in action on the 24th and 25th of January when they travel back to Gainesville, Fla. to take part in the RADD Sports Invitational.
