Darkness Suspends First Day of Play at Patriot Fall Classic

NINETY SIX, S.C. - A crowded field of 19 teams and 112 golfers produced an incredibly slow pace of play during the first two rounds of the Patriot Fall Classic on Monday. It took approximately six hours to complete the opening round, which began at 8:30 a.m. and concluded around 2:30 p.m. This forced the postponement of the completion of round two to Tuesday with most participants having 2-3 holes remaining when the sun set.

At the stoppage of play, Embry-Riddle Men's Golf held down the 10th spot on the leaderboard at nine over par. The Eagles produced impressive scores in round one as Edoardo Scialanga led the way with a 69 to push the Blue and Gold up to fifth in the standings with a 289 (+1). This tournament is a rare occasion for Embry-Riddle as it's the first time the Eagles have left the state as a team since the spring of 2023 and the first tournament outside of Florida and Georgia since 2020.
