Eagles Finish On Top at the Embry-Riddle Running Elements Classic

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Thanks to a full team effort and multiple highlight performances throughout the weekend the Eagles took home the Embry-Riddle Running Elements Classic. On the way to the title Embry-Riddle scored 141 points as bested their Daytona Beach neighbor Bethune-Cookman (132) as well as Southeastern University (104).

Highlight Performances

  • Antonio Caito - Won the triple jump with a mark of 15.78m, setting an Embry-Riddle program record, earning an NCAA Division II provisional mark, and now leading the NCAA Division II in the event.

  • K'Anthony Benjamin - Delivered a strong performance across multiple sprints. After setting a school record in the 200m prelims on Friday, he ran 10.50s for third place in the 100-meter dash on Saturday—a time that ranks as the third fastest in program history. Benjamin also finished third in the 200m final with a time of 21.17s.

  • Throws - Jacob Swavely placed second in the discus finals with a throw of 45.24m, while teammate Joshua Dixon finished third in the shot put with a heave of 13.89m.

UP NEXT

The Eagles will head southwest next week to compete in the South Florida Invitational, hosted by the University of South Florida in Tampa, Fla., from April 11-12.
