DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle men's and women's tennis teams were both announced as South Region Community Service Award winners by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. The ITA Community Service award honors teams that give back to their campus and their community through tennis and non-tennis pathways.
The tennis teams combined for 331 hours of service to the greater Daytona Beach community in 2024-25. The men's team volunteered for post-hurricane cleanup at Sugar Mill Botanical Gardens helping with tree removal, yard waste cleanup, clearing walking paths and cleaning outdoor structures. They also assisted with a food drive at Our Lady of Hope church, helping load and unload vehicles and organizing food items for distribution.
The women's team averaged close to 25 hours of community service per student-athlete in 2024-25. Their efforts included volunteering at the Honors Program Community Garden, participating in an Adopt A Block program and supporting children with autism at the Easterseals Walk With Me event.
