Softball Sees Five Selected to All-SSC Teams

| By:
MELBOURNE, Fla. - Five members of the Embry-Riddle softball team received All-Sunshine State Conference honors, the league office announced on Tuesday. It's the most All-Conference honorees in a season for the program since 2019. Emma Wood (first base) and Katriana Bain (catcher) earned spots on the first team while Leah Oberkehr (outfield), Delaney Morgan (outfield) and Shelby Morse (pitcher) were named to the second team. It's the third-straight season Morgan was recognized by the conference for her performance and the second-consecutive appearance on an All-SSC team for Wood.

To be eligible for All-SSC, A student-athlete must start a minimum of 51 percent of her team's scheduled contests at the position for which she's being nominated, except for pitcher. To be nominated at utility (pitcher), a student-athlete must have played at least 33% of the school's total games at other lineup positions besides pitcher. To be nominated at utility (non-pitcher), a student-athlete must have played at least two or more positions with no more than 60 percent of playing time at one position.

Wood was on the All-SSC Second Team last year at the utility-pitcher position, but the junior was bumped up to the first team after making the transition to first base in 2025. The only Eagle to start all 47 games, Wood boasted a powerful bat in the heart of the Eagles' order. She led the squad in average (.353) and RBI (30) alongside 20 runs and four stolen bases. Her 12 doubles tied for the fifth-most in the SSC. The Palm Coast, Florida native also possessed one of the top gloves on the squad with a .982 fielding percentage and 308 putouts, which ranked third in the conference.

Bain was a reliable option at catcher, but she also spent a fair amount of time as the team's designated player due to her stout .330 batting average, nine doubles and 20 RBI over 37 games played. Behind the dish, the senior threw out six runners attempting to steal this season.

Both Wood and Bain are the first members of the Blue and Gold to earn spots on an All-SSC team at first base and catcher since 2019.

Oberkehr and Morgan constructed a productive outfield that came up clutch at the plate and produced acrobatic catches in the field. Oberkehr was one of the fastest student-athletes not just in the SSC, but in the NCAA II as well. The Ponte Vedra, Florida product ended her season with the most stolen bases per game (1.06) in the division among those with 10 or more games played. Her 50 stolen bases smashed the program record by 16 and were the seventh-most in a single season in the history of the conference.

Oberkehr also produced a .335 batting average with 18 RBI and a team-leading 42 runs scored, which was the third-most in the SSC.

As for Morgan, she filled up the stat sheet in 2025 with a .341/.431/.436 slash line to go with nine doubles, 30 runs, 25 RBI, 12 stolen bases, and a team-high 22 walks. The senior also served the Eagles well in center with a .985 fielding percentage.

Morse was Embry-Riddle's ace in its rotation this year. She ranked inside the top 10 in the SSC in multiple categories including shutouts (6, T-1st), saves (3, T-2nd), ERA (1.51, 4th), wins (12, T-6th), and walks issued per seven innings (1.12, 6th). Over 21 starts and 27 appearances, Morse rang up 63 batters and held opposing hitters to a .239 clip at the plate with a 1.06 WHIP. The junior ended her season in peak form, having allowed just two earned runs over her last 40 innings of work.
