Final Standings
CLEVELAND, Ohio – Thanks to postseason success from ten different programs, Embry-Riddle Athletics finished in 32nd with 463 points in the final Learfield Directors' Cup Division II standings. With 302 NCAA II members, that puts ERAU in the 89th percentile in the entire division for the 2024-25 academic year. It's the second-best finish by the Eagles in the Division II Directors' Cup, trailing only 2021-22's 26th-place showing.
Additionally, Embry-Riddle placed fourth among SSC members, trailing only Tampa (5th, 755.5), Nova Southeastern (9th, 647.25) and Lynn (14th, 556.25). That's an impressive result considering SSC-affiliated programs captured a total of eight national championships in 2024-25, which tied for the most by a single conference in one year in NCAA II history.
The Learfield Directors' Cup honors institutions in all three NCAA divisions, as well as the NAIA, that achieve success in a multitude of sports. For Division II, only scores from the top 15 programs are counted, although men's basketball, women's basketball, baseball and volleyball must be included. Programs receive points based on where they finish in the national postseason tournament.
Embry-Riddle got off to a strong start in the fall with three programs making regional appearances. Volleyball (50) advanced to the regional semifinals and came within one point of upsetting top-seeded Lynn. Men's cross country (29) earned a fifth-place finish at its regional race, and women's soccer (25) also competed in an NCAA II regional to combine for 104 points for the Blue and Gold.
Embry-Riddle's winter programs nearly matched that output as women's basketball (50) reached the regional semifinals and women's indoor track and field (50) sent a pair of Eagles to the final championship site to tie for 23rd overall. The 100 points from winter teams brought ERAU up to 204 total points to sit in 53rd.
A 259-point tally in the spring helped Embry-Riddle vault up 21 spots to 32nd as six program's contributed to ERAU's efforts. Most notably, women's rowing won the athletic department's first NCAA II team championship to earn the maximum 100 points.
Five Eagles represented the Blue and Gold at the women's track and field outdoor championships to aid the program in a T-26th placement to capture 47 points while the men earned 27 tallies with its T-45th result. Women's lacrosse (45) made the national tournament for the first time in program history and reached the regional semifinals while men's golf (15) also competed in an NCAA II regional for the first time ever, placing 15th. Women's tennis (25) competed in the South Region tournament as well.
