GREENWOOD, Ind. - Embry-Riddle Men's Lacrosse student-athletes, Pete Abbes, Christian Hofer, Joe Anderson, and Tim Keefe all earned places on the College Sports Communicators Men's At-Large Academic All-District team, the organization announced on Tuesday. Abbes and Hofer find themselves on this list for the second time in their college careers, while Anderson and Keefe are first-time winners. This is just the second year the men's lacrosse team has placed members on this team.

The at-large distinction, which is an honor that recognizes the premier student-athletes in college athletics who excel both in the classroom and their respective sports, includes beach volleyball, bowling, rowing, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, and water polo.

To be nominated, a student-athlete must have competed in 90 percent of competitions or started in 66 percent of games,  carry a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade point average (including both undergraduate and graduate degree work) and be at least a sophomore in both athletic and academic standing.

Hofer and Keefe had outstanding seasons on the field as they were honorable mention All-Americans by USA Lacrosse Magazine. Hofer also went on to win USILA All-American honors as he scored 24 goals and provided 14 assists this season. All four of these athletes competed in all 16 games this year as key players in the best season in the program's history. The Eagles achieved their first post-season victory this year in the Sunshine State Conference Tournament and broke into the USILA Top 20.

Keefe is currently studying for his undergraduate in Business Administration (3.70) and Abbes is studying Unmanned Aircraft Systems (4.0). Anderson is a graduate student in Aerospace Engineering(3.71) while Hofer completed his MBA (3.90).
