Men’s Lacrosse Receives USILA Team Academic Award; Carfagna and Hofer Named Scholar All-Americans

| By:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A historic season on the field was accompanied by a stout performance in the classroom as Embry-Riddle Men's Lacrosse was honored with the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association's Team Academic Award on Tuesday. Additionally, Nolan Carfagna and Christian Hofer were tabbed as the program's third and fourth Scholar All-Americans, joining Ryan Manning (2023) and Isaiah Hines (2024).

ERAU was one of just 31 NCAA II programs to receive the award, and only five of which were Sunshine State Conference members. The honor is bestowed upon programs with a 3.0 team GPA or higher. The Eagles recorded a 3.44 team GPA in the spring semester.

This is the ninth-career academic accolade, and third of the year, for Hofer. Having already been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team and SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll, Hofer was a potent threat on offense. The senior competed in all 16 games for the Blue and Gold and registered the second-most points on the team with 38 coming from 24 goals and 14 assists. Hofer found the back of the net in 14 of his 16 games played. He graduates with a master's in business administration with a 3.90 GPA and a 4.00 GPA during the spring.

As for Carfagna, he also made an impact in his lone season as an Eagle. Starting all 16 games, Carfagna assisted Embry-Riddle defensively by recording 24 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers, which were the second-most on the squad. It's his second academic honor of the year after earning a spot on the SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll. He's pursuing a master's in business administration and has a 3.60 GPA.
