Volleyball Releases 2025 Schedule

| By:
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla – With the upcoming 2025 season just over one month away, the Embry-Riddle volleyball team revealed its full schedule for the season on Tuesday. ERAU is coming off its second-straight postseason appearance that saw the Eagles almost knock off the eventual NCAA II champions Lynn, taking the Fighting Knights to a fifth set that ended 19-17.

The slate looks to be packed full of action with the Eagles scheduled to compete in 30 matches, 17 of which will be held on ERAU's home court inside the ICI Center.

The schedule features nine programs that competed at last year's NCAA II National Tournament, including Sunshine State Conference foes Lynn, Tampa, Florida Tech, Barry, and Nova Southeastern alongside non-conference opposition MSU Denver, Flagler, Lenoir-Rhyne and Lewis. Three of those were tournament champions of their respective conferences, such as Flagler (Peach Belt), Lewis (Great Lakes Valley) and MSU Denver (Rocky Mountain Athletic), while Lynn was the SSC's regular season winner.

Additionally, the Eagles will face six first-time opponents such as MSU Denver, Sioux Falls, Ashland, Seton Hill, Clark Atlanta, and Lewis.

Embry-Riddle has won every season-opener since 2018, and the Eagles will try to continue that streak at the season-opening Bahama House Classic. ERAU will host Montevallo, MSU Denver, Flagler and Sioux Falls for a two-day round robin tournament that begins on Sept. 5 as the Eagles look to remain undefeated in the all-time series against the Falcons (4-0) in Montevallo's first trip to Daytona Beach. In the nightcap, ERAU hosts the Roadrunners for Bring Your Team Night. The following day, Embry-Riddle will hope to stretch its unbeaten streak against the Saints to seven straight matches before facing Sioux Falls later in the day.

A sixth-consecutive trip to the annual Flagler Saints Classic is up next. Embry-Riddle takes on Lenoir-Rhyne and Lees-McRae on Sept. 12 with a match versus Ashland on Sept. 13.

The next weekend sees the Blue and Gold host its second tournament of the season, the Embry-Riddle Invitational. Embry-Riddle faces a trio of first-time opponents, taking on Seton Hill and Clark Atlanta on Sept. 19 followed by Lewis on Sept. 20.

SSC play commences on Sept. 26 with a four-game homestand when the Eagles host Rollins for Faculty and Staff Night. It's a program ERAU hasn't lost to since 2017 thanks to a 13-match unbeaten streak. ERAU is also hoping to continue its SSC-opening win streak that dates back to 2018.

Embry-Riddle carries a solid winning streak (four games) into the contest with Eckerd (Sept. 27). Bragging rights are on the line in a meeting with Florida Tech (Sept. 30) as the Eagles hold a 20-16 advantage in the all-time series after sweeping the season series last year. Embry-Riddle has had the upper hand of late, claiming 14 of the last 15 meetings, nine of which were sweeps. In total, Embry-Riddle is 11-5 at home against the Panthers and 13-1 in league competition.

The Eagles then welcome Saint Leo to town on Oct. 3 in hopes of taking a ninth-consecutive contest from the Lions.

A five-game road trip begins on Oct. 10 as the Blue and Gold's next four opponents are all in South Florida. First, ERAU will look for revenge against the defending NCAA II champions Lynn with a bout against Barry the next day. The Eagles return to the area the next weekend to face Palm Beach Atlantic (Oct. 17) and Nova Southeastern (Oct. 18). Embry-Riddle has won nine of the last ten over the Sailfish. The road trip concludes at Eckerd on Oct. 21.

Back-to-back contests inside the ICI Center help the Eagles make the transition from the first half to the second half of the SSC slate. For the last two seasons, ERAU has taken NCAA II powerhouse Tampa to five sets in Daytona Beach. The Eagles will be looking for their first-ever win over the Spartans on Oct. 24 before taking on Florida Southern on Oct. 25.

November opens up with games at Saint Leo (Nov. 1) and Florida Tech (Nov. 4). Embry-Riddle hasn't lost in Melbourne since 2017.

Another homestand commences on Nov. 7 with the Homecoming match against Barry. The Eagles have beaten the Buccaneers the last two times at home. A rematch with Lynn occurs the day after while Nova Southeastern (Nov. 14) and Palm Beach Atlantic (Nov. 15) arrive next weekend for the final home matches of the year.

The season caps off on the road with away contests at Rollins (Nov. 18), Florida Southern (Nov. 21) and Tampa (Nov. 22).

The winner of the SSC regular season championship will receive the league's automatic bid to the NCAA II National Tournament, which has regional play scheduled for Dec. 4 – Dec. 7. Embry-Riddle will hope to once again receive one of the eight available bids after doing so for the previous two seasons. The 2025 NCAA II National Championship final site will be at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota from Dec. 11-13.
