ORLANDO, Fla. - For the fourth time this season, Eliana Sheplee has been named the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week. The redshirt freshman led the Blue and Gold to a pair of wins against Florida Southern (Jan. 14) and Tampa (Jan. 17). The Rice Lake, Wisconsin native led ERAU in scoring during a dominant 79-49 victory at Florida Southern, and followed that up with one of her best performances of the season on Saturday afternoon against Tampa. Sheplee averaged 28 points and 11.5 rebounds while shooting over .700 (24-for-34) from the field, .500 (4-for-8) from three-point range, and was perfect from the free throw line (4-for-4) between the two games.
Sheplee now has five games this season with at least 20 points and 10 rebounds, after accomplishing it in each game last week. On Wednesday night, against the Mocs, the guard had 24 points and 12 rebounds. In the win over Tampa, she had 32 points, 11 rebounds, and hit a season-high four shots from behind the arc.
Her 32 points on Saturday rank as the third-most in a single game in Embry-Riddle history, while her 13 made field goals are second-most all-time.
The Northern Iowa transfer first earned SSC Player of the Week honors on November 24 after a 35-point performance in ERAU's 74-70 win over Flagler, the highest single-game scoring output in the conference this season. In that contest, Sheplee also made program history by becoming the first Eagle to go perfect from the free-throw line with at least 10 attempts.
Sheplee's accolades continued on December 15 when she was named SSC Defensive Player of the Week following a dominant 25-point, 11-rebound effort in Embry-Riddle's 96–52 victory over Barry.
Just earlier this month, on January 5, Sheplee earned Player of the Week honors after averaging 20.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in the Eagles' two wins over Eckerd and Florida Tech.
So far this season, Sheplee leads the conference in scoring at 20.3 points per game while averaging 7.5 rebounds, shooting .511 from the field, and .903 from the free-throw line, while adding more than two steals per game, ranking top 10 in the league in each of those categories.
