ABOUT THE EAGLESAfter nearly two weeks off, mostly due to inclement weather, the Embry-Riddle women's soccer team returned to the pitch last weekend and came away with a 2-0 record, notching wins against Florida Memorial (13-1) and St. Thomas (4-1). The Eagles are 7-1 overall and will be looking for their third conference win of the year against Ave Maria.
Andrea Froshuag vaulted to the top of the Eagles' scoring chart this season with a record-setting performance against Florida Memorial (Sept. 26). Frøshaug's five-goal output matched
Valerie Obita (2010-13) and Elina Johansson's (2007-10) single-game scoring record. She currently has 10 goals on the year.
Katherine Ebbs is the Eagles' assist leader with five, while
Isabelle Haaranen and
Annie Gelnaw have contributed six and four goals, respectively.
Olivia Lynch has seen most of the time in goal for the Eagles. The junior has two shutouts, 20 saves and a 1.00 goals against average
THE GYRENESLed by third-year head coach Frank Frostino, Ave Maria brings a 3-3 record into Thursday's game, including an 0-2 record in league play. The Lady Gyrenes last outing resulted in a 4-0 loss to Webber International (Sept. 27).
Sophomore Anne Bateman is pacing the Lady Gyrene offense with three goals and two assists for a total of eight points this season. Francesca Singleton has anchored the goalkeeping position in all six of AMU's games, collecting 29 saves on the way to a 4.83 goals against average.
The ERAU-AMU SERIESEmbry-Riddle leads the all-time series Ave Maria 4-0. In the four meetings between the two teams, the Eagles have outscored the Lady Gyrenes 31-1.
MOVING UPThe Eagles continue to climb in the national rankings. After starting at No. 6, the Eagles have moved up one spot each week in the NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll, and currently sit at No. 4. Defending national champion Concordia (Oregon) continues to hold the No. 1 spot, while William Carey, Cumberland (Tennessee), Embry-Riddle and Concordia (California) round out the top five.
AMONG THE NATION'S BESTThe Embry-Riddle women's soccer team currently stands as on of the most prolific offensive teams in the NAIA. The Eagles lead the nation with a 4.88 goals-per-game average, and rank in the top 10 nationally in assists per game (3rd, 3.63), total assists (7th, 29), total goals (7th, 39) and shots on goal per game (11.88).
Individually,
Katherine Ebbs ranks fourth nationally in assists per game (0.83) and Andrea Frøshaug ranks ninth in goals per contest (1.25).
COACHING MILESTONEEmbry-Riddle Head Coach
Samantha Bohon notched her 100th victory as a head coach with the Eagles' record-setting victory over Florida Memorial last Friday. Bohon is in her eighth season at the helm of the ERAU women's soccer program and has guided the Blue and Gold to seven national tournament appearances, four national quarterfinals and three conference tournament crowns. She is 101-44-5 all-time at Embry-Riddle.

Olivia Lynch are steadily moving up on a few of the Eagles' career listings. Ebbs, who leads the 2014 squad with five assists on the year, is now sixth all-time in the Eagles' assists list with a career total of 26. Lynch's two shutouts this season have moved her into the No. 5 spot with 11 for her career, while her 7-1 record places her in fourth in career wins with 22.
