Nyberg, Mateo, Gallo, and Roane Named to USC All-Region

| By:
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – United Soccer Coaches released its All-Region teams on Tuesday, with four Embry-Riddle women's soccer student-athletes earning recognition. Lauryn Mateo and Thea Nyberg were named First Team All-South Region, while Olivia Gallo and Stella Roane collected Second Team honors.

With Mateo and Nyberg being named to the first team, that ties the most players Embry-Riddle has had in program history, after they also had Marie Myhrvold Seim and Isabelle Navren earn this distinction in 2023. Embry-Riddle and Florida Tech led all programs in the region with four total selections apiece.

Mateo earned All-Region honors for the third consecutive season and received First Team recognition for the second straight year, becoming the first player in ERAU history with multiple First Team selections and the only Eagle to be named USC All-Region three times. The junior has also earned First Team All-Conference, D2 CCA Second Team All-Region, and CSC Academic All-District honors this season.

The Orange Park native led the Eagles in every major attacking category, finishing with six goals, three assists, 15 points, 44 shots, 20 shots on goal, and three game-winning goals. Her nine career game-winning goals rank 10th all-time in program history, and she ranked in the top five of the Sunshine State Conference for game-winning goals (2nd), shots (4th), goals (T-5th) and points (T-5th) this season.

Nyberg earned USC All-Region recognition for the first time in her career after anchoring an Eagle defense that allowed fewer than one goal per match and tallied six shutouts during the 2025 season. The defender led all ERAU field players with 1,610 minutes played out of a possible 1,620 and finished her career with 73 starts in 74 appearances. Nyberg also recorded her first career assist in a 1-1 draw against eventual regional champion Florida Tech.

Gallo was named to the USC All-South Region Second Team for the second consecutive season. The senior defender from Stockholm, Sweden, scored her first career goal on a free kick from nearly 40 yards out and posted a career-high three assists. Serving as team captain, Gallo helped lead Embry-Riddle to the NCAA Tournament for a sixth straight season and played all 90 minutes in 13 of the Eagles' 18 matches.

Roane earned Second Team All-Region recognition in just her first season as ERAU's starting goalkeeper. The junior posted a 6-3-9 record, made 72 saves, and recorded six shutouts, while finishing with an .818 save percentage and a 0.89 goals-against average. Roane played every minute of the season and was also named Second Team All-Conference, with her shutouts and total saves both ranking in the program's top 10 for a single season.
