DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – On Sunday, Embry-Riddle's Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority hosted the "Hope For Hayley 5K," an event that was organized to help raise money for former ERAU women's cross country team member
Hayley Lewis who was injured in an automobile accident last summer.
Nearly 100 students and members of the Embry-Riddle community participated in the race to help support Lewis. Lewis was able to attend the event with her family and served as the race's starter.
"We had a great time tonight with a great turnout," said Embry-Riddle cross-country head coach
Mike Rosolino. "Hayley and her family came out and she looked great."
Lewis ran for the Eagle women's cross country team as a freshman last season. She posted a top time of 20:41.58 at the South Florida Invitational (Sept. 6) and had her top finish of the 2013-14 season (22nd) at the ERAU ASICS Classic (Sept. 21)
